FAQ & Troubleshooting
Platform, saving, controllers, achievements, the DONG noise, stuck potatoes, mopping and leaderboard questions — answered with sources.
Game and purchase
How long is Potato Please?
Community Most player reviews and two full-game recordings put a normal clear at roughly 3 to 4 hours. A 100% achievement run takes longer because of the hand-peeling grinds and the late-game hidden achievement. There is no official playtime figure.
How much does it cost, and is there a discount?
Verified The Chinese store region lists ¥35.00 with a -10% launch discount (¥31.50) ending 15 November 2026. Press listings put the US price at US$8.99. Regional pricing varies; check the Steam page.
Is it on consoles, or is there multiplayer?
Verified The game is PC (Windows) only and single-player. No console versions or multiplayer modes are listed. Family Sharing, Steam Cloud and Steam Achievements are supported.
Does it work on Steam Deck or with a controller?
Verified The store page lists full controller support for Xbox controllers and the Steam Input API. Community Some reviews are tagged as played mostly on Steam Deck, but we have not confirmed an official "Deck Verified" badge.
Which languages are supported?
Verified 19 languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Turkish, Czech, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The store page marks interface, full audio and subtitles support.
Playing and progression
How many achievements are there, and which are hidden?
Verified 20 achievements, 6 of them hidden: Traitor, For the Motherland, The Last Harvest, Every Path Has a Price, Your Own Executioner and Unauthorized Passenger. See the searchable achievement table for all unlock rates.
How do I unlock "Unauthorized Passenger"?
Verified Unlock the late-game Sack Cableway automation, place a sack beside it, then press E to grab the sack as the machine lifts it. Jumping onto the sack does not work. Full four-step walkthrough →
Can I save at any time? Is there any time pressure?
Verified Yes. "Save Anytime" is listed, along with "Playable at Your Own Pace" and "Playable without Quick Time Events". Steam Cloud is enabled.
Does the game stay a hand-peeling game the whole way through?
Community No. The store page explicitly promises a progression into automation, and player reviews describe the shift to machines roughly a third of the way in. See Automation & Efficiency.
Are there multiple endings?
Community Player reviews reference multiple endings, and hidden achievement names suggest distinct loyalty and cost-based outcomes. Exact conditions are not publicly documented. See Story & Endings.
Troubleshooting
What is the constant "DONG" noise?
Community A Steam thread asks the same question. No confirmed cause or fix was published at our snapshot. Read the thread →
Mopping does not seem to work
Community A thread titled "Mopping is broken" exists in the hub. Check the Steam news hub first, since launch-week issues are often patched quickly. Read the thread →
Potatoes get stuck on the floor during automation
Community A critical review describes manually unsticking potatoes. No official workaround is documented. Try reloading a save and re-feeding the affected machine; verify against the latest patch notes.
Are the leaderboards reliable?
Community A "Leaderboard Cheaters" discussion exists. We do not publish record times because no official speedrun rules or verified records have been announced.
Where do I report a bug or find an official answer?
Use the Steam community hub (it has Bug Reports, Help & Questions, and Suggestions sub-forums) and the official news hub for patch notes.
About this site
Is this an official guide?
No. This is an independent, non-commercial fan reference and is not affiliated with Golden Horn Studios or Valve. All facts are sourced and dated; see Videos & Sources.
Why do some pages say "unverified"?
The game launched on 3 November 2026. At the time of writing, no official upgrade price table, ending guide or complete item list had been published. Rather than fill those gaps with guesses, we label community-sourced claims and leave unknown values blank.
